The lighthouse in Lido di Jesolo is also a popular tourist destination, located at the eastern end of the town, in the Cavallino-Treporti area, at the mouth of the Sile River in the sea.the lighthouse was built in 1840 and since then has served as an important navigation point for ships sailing near the coast. Its light helps sailors to navigate at night and in bad weather. The lighthouse is approximately 48 metres high and its light can be seen up to 30 nautical miles away.the area around the lighthouse is a beautiful natural area that offers tranquility and spectacular views. Near the lighthouse is a beach that is popular with locals and tourists alike. The beach is less frequented than the main beaches in downtown Jesolo.
For those of you who want to venture beyond the harbours of Jesolo, we recommend visiting nearby seaside resorts such as Caorle, Bibione, Lignano or Cavallino.
You can also take a day trip to Lago di Garda with a visit to the famous Gardaland theme park.
The surrounding towns of Portogruaro, San Dona, Palmanova (a historic town and unesco monument that looks like a star when viewed from above), and the spa town of Grado are also worth a visit.
And, of course, we cannot forget the unique Venice (Venezia) and its islands. Venice can be reached easily by public transport (combined bus+boat line) or by car to the port of Punta Sabbioni, from where you will continue by boat directly to the centre of Venice (exit at Piazza San Marco) or to one of the smaller islands. Don't forget comfortable shoes, sunglasses or an umbrella depending on the forecast, and a good snack including water to drink.
