Západ slunce nad zátokou v Caorle, v popředí maják a kostel Madonna dellAngelo

If you have chosen to stay in the popular town of Caorle for your holiday - whether in or near the historic centre, in Porto Santa Margherita or in the newlido Altanea - as well as relaxing on the sandy beaches, there's also plenty to keep children and adults entertained. Both in the resort and in the surrounding area.

Not only for children in Caorle you will find sports and playgrounds, swings on the beaches, beach volleyball nets, bicycle and quad bike rentals or game rooms with various simulators (coin or token) and video games.

We definitely recommend a visit to the local waterpark Acquafollie, located just outside Caorle. In addition, a small amusement park is open in the evenings during the summer.the youngest children will also enjoy a visit to the bouncy castles (Gomma Magica), where they can jump(children are only charged for a single entry, adult "non-jumping" companions are free).

There's also a cheerful tourist train (trenino) - there are even several in Caorle: offers sightseeing tours in the historic district and the immediate surroundings, some go at the edge of the lagoon to the fishermen's huts, and in high season there are often rides to Porto Santa Margherita or Duna Verde. In the new part of Lido Altanea, the train provides a free shuttle service to the beach for guests.

Right in the historic centre of Caorle is the ancient fishing harbour, where everyone still fishermen unload their catches every day, which you can enjoy in the local restaurants. The harbour is also the departure point for cruise boats to the lagoon, Venice and a short evening cruise along the coast. The beautiful painted rowing boats used for local festivals are also moored here.

At the end of Caorle, towards Bibione, there is a lagoon of several thousand hectares, a huge expanse of water covered with rwhere water birds and turtles hide, many species of fish, crustaceans and molluscs live. Salt water from the sea mixes with fresh water from the Lemene and Livenza rivers, which then empty into the sea at either end of Caorle.

In the original reed huts of the Casoni on the so called The old fishermen still live in the original Casoni huts on the Fishermen's Island (Isola dei Pescatori), where they weave nets, cook on the fire and keep chickens, ducks and rabbits.some of them even remember Ernest Hemingway himself, who used to stay here and go hunting in the lagoon; his house can be seen from the boat. Hemingway also set the setting of his novel 'Beyond the River and Among the Trees' in Caorle and its lagoon.

If you want to venture a little further afield, you can explore nearby seaside resorts such as Bibione and Lignano, or on the other lido di Jesolo, Cavallino, or take a big day trip to Lago di Garda with a visit to the famous Gardaland theme park.

The surrounding towns of Portogruaro, San Dona, Palmanova, the spa town of Grado and, of course, the unique city of Venice and its islands are also worth seeing.
