Veneto is an Italian region that is still a traditional destination for tourists from all over Europe. The region is characterised by the Dolomites, Lake Garda, the Venetian plain, the ancient cities of Verona, Padua and Venice.

Here you can encounter Etruscan culture, Greek and Roman, as well as Gothic architecture. The Dolomites extend into the northern part of the Veneto region, where you will find renowned ski resorts.

The coast of Veneto is washed by the Adriatic Sea, which is flat with many long sandy beaches. The centre of the region is Venice, a city built in the Venetian lagoon on 118 islands and connected by a hundred canals. As well as interesting monuments and cities, Veneto also offers opportunities for recreation in seaside resorts. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of sporting activities on land, in the mountains or on the water.
