The secret of the pink sand
The pink hue is not a work of magic, but of nature. The sand acquires its colour from tiny fragments of coral, shells and microscopic organisms whose pink-coloured shells have crumbled into fine dust over the centuries.
To preserve the beach's uniqueness, access to it is now strictly forbidden. Previously, tourists collected the pink sand as a souvenir, which led to its decline. Now the beach is under protection and can only be admired from a distance - from a boat or from a vantage point on Budelli Island. Thanks to this measure, nature is taking back what belongs to it and the pink sand is gradually being restored.

How to get to this wonder
The best way to see La Spiaggia Rosa is by boat trip from Palau or the port of La Maddalena. Many operators offer expeditions that include stops at several of the archipelago's gorgeous beaches. From the deck of the boat you can enjoy views of this unique natural phenomenon.
The magic of the unattainable
La Spiaggia Rosa is not just a beach, but a symbol of the fragile beauty of nature that demands respect. Perhaps because it is impossible to set foot on it, it remains one of Sardinia's most celebrated places, etched in the memory of everyone who approaches it.
