The lake is famous not only for its clear water, but also for being set in an almost fairytale-like setting.the steep cliffs of the Dolomites, dense forests and green meadows create a backdrop that is almost unreal. The Italian Touring Club has repeatedly awarded Lago di Molveno as the most beautiful lake in Italy in terms of water clarity, sustainability and quality of tourist services.
Lago di Molveno is a glacial lake whose water is partly replenished by underground springs directly from the Brenta Dolomites. This gives it unusually clean water, which is tested annually and shows excellent quality.

1. Swimming and water sports
In summer, the lake offers warm and clear water suitable for swimming. Paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats or sailboats are also available.

Mountain bike enthusiasts will find the Paganella Bike Park, where there are both downhill trails and quiet panoramic paths.

The area around the lake is criss-crossed with trails of varying difficulty. A popular one is the circular trail around the lake. It is about 12 km long and combines spectacular views with an easy walk.

Right by the lake you will find beaches with playgrounds, mini golf, tennis courts and well-equipped campsites. Molveno is an ideal destination for families with children.
Excursion tip: Take the cable car to Pradel
From Molveno you can take the cable car to the Pradel plateau (1,350 m above sea level), where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and the Brenta massif. Pradel is a starting point for hiking or visiting the forest park with rope obstacles for children.
