Peschici is a picturesque town of medieval origin located on the Gargano peninsula. The town has approximately 4 400 inhabitants. It is said to be the real pearl of the Gargano peninsula. This is mainly due to its magnificent location on a rocky cliff, under which there are sea caves. These caves can be found all along the Gargano coast. You can visit them during a boat trip combined with a swim on the beautiful pebble beach. You will pass under the Lovers' Arch, see the Salt Cave, where smuggled salt was hidden, and be enchanted by the Cave of Violets. the crystal clear water where you can see different kinds of molluscs, silver fish or red seaweed. If you are lucky, you will see the eponymous animals in the Cave of the Mongoose, which are about 3 metres long and resemble seals and are often seen in the caverns of the cave.
At first glance, you will be captivated by the white stone houses and the typical winding streets, the foundations of which date back to the Middle Ages. As you stroll through the old town, you will be impressed by the characteristic shops and craftsmen's workshops of all kinds. The town is surrounded on both sides by beautiful wide sandy beaches, especially suitable for a pleasant family holiday. Peschici is actually a maze of characteristic streets and passages which can only be explored on foot. Shops, typical restaurants, pizzerias, discos. The surrounding beaches are sandy. It has a very nice, well-preserved historical centre, which is undoubtedly worth seeing.
In recent years Peschici has become a popular tourist resort with many modern infrastructures that give the prerequisites for a pleasant holiday.
