Passo Tonale is one of the most impressive ski resorts in the Italian Alps. It is part of the vast Adamello Ski area, attracting breathtaking views, a variety of slopes and excellent snow conditions throughout the winter.

It takes its name from the Tonale Pass, which connects the Val-Camonica valley with the Val di Sole.

Ideal conditions for skiing

Passo Tonale lies at around 1,880 metres above sea level and its highest peaks reach up to 3,000 metres, ensuring a long season from autumn to spring. Thanks to the Presena glacier, snow is guaranteed even late in the season, a huge advantage over other resorts.

The resort offers over 100 km of slopes for all levels of skiers. Beginners will appreciate the wide and well maintained blue runs. For advanced skiers there are red and black runs, among which the legendary black run from the Presena glacier stands out as one of the most demanding in the area. Snowboarders and freeriders will appreciate the snowparks and the extensive free skiing areas.

Off-piste experiences

In addition to downhill skiing, Passo Tonale is a great place for cross-country skiers. The surrounding countryside is criss-crossed with dozens of kilometres of cross-country skiing trails. Adrenaline junkies can try heliskiing, where a helicopter transports you to the tops of the mountains, where you descend on endless white plains.

Families with children will appreciate the tobogganing and children's parks with attractions specially designed for little skiers.

History and culture

But Passo Tonale is not just about skiing. In the surrounding area you will find traces of the First World War, when these mountains witnessed intense fighting. Today, you can visit various historical sites such as war museums and fortresses, bringing a unique combination of sport and history.

After a day on the slopes, you can relax in the local wellness centres or enjoy an evening in one of the traditional restaurants offering delicious Italian cuisine. Typical dishes include regional specialities from Trentino, such as polenta or Puzzone di Moena cheese.

Easy accessibility

Passo Tonale is easily accessible from both Italy and other European countries. Many visitors opt for air travel to nearby airports such as Bergamo or Verona, from where it is possible to take shuttle buses directly to the resort.
