Loano is originally a Roman town, which was the seat of the bishops of Albengy in the Middle Ages. Today, the seaside town is one of the liveliest resorts on the Ligurian Riviera. Tourists are especially attracted by its long sandy beach with pebbles, lined with a beautiful palm tree promenade. Loano is one of the most touristic towns in Liguria. Among the historical monuments located in the centre, you can admire in particular the Baroque church of San Giovanni Battista, the Castello or the old clock tower.
