Lipari is the main island in the Aeolian Islands archipelago, located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the northern coast of Sicily. It is the largest and busiest of the Aeolian Islands. Lipari is known for its volcanic activity, picturesque beaches, historical monuments and rich vegetation. Highlights include the Cathedral of San Bartolomeo and the Archaeological Museum, which displays artefacts from antiquity.
