Lazio, one of Italy's twenty regions, is located in central Italy. The capital of the region is Rome, which is also the capital of the whole of Italy. Lazio is known for its rich historical and cultural heritage, which dates back to antiquity.

Lazio is the cradle of the ancient Roman civilisation, which influenced the entire Western world. Iconic monuments such as the Colosseum, the Forum Romanum, and the Pantheon can be found in Rome. In addition to Roman monuments, there are many medieval and Renaissance buildings, including the Vatican, which is the seat of the Catholic Church and the Pope. But the towns of Tivoli, Tarquinia, and Civita di Bagnoregio are also worth a visit.

The landscape of Lazio is very diverse. To the west is the Tyrrhenian Sea with its beautiful beaches, while the inland is made up of hilly and mountainous terrain. The region also has several important lakes, such as Lake Bolsena and Lake Bracciano, which are popular tourist destinations.

Lazio is a fascinating region that offers a mixture of history, culture, nature and modern life. It is a place where centuries-old traditions intertwine with dynamic contemporary life, making Lazio one of the most attractive areas of Italy for tourists and locals alike.
