The Christmas Nativity Exhibition in Ossana is a traditional event that attracts visitors every year, especially during Advent and Christmas. Ossana, located in the Trentino region, is famous for its impressive collection of more than 1,000 nativity scenes, which are displayed throughout the town.
The cribs are placed in various public and private places - in the windows of houses, in squares, in wooden hutsor even at historical landmarks such as the medieval castle of San Michele, which forms a dramatic backdrop to the festive atmosphere.this medieval castle was reopened to the public in 2014 and is now open in winter. Once inside the walls, you'll discover a special nativity scene: it tells the true story that took place on Christmas Eve during the 1st Christmas Eve. in a trench on Christmas Eve during World War II.
Each nativity scene is unique and comes from local and international artists who use a variety of materials such as wood, ceramics, textiles and more.
The whole town is beautifully decorated at this time of year, and a walk among the nativity scenes highlights the magic of an Italian Christmas. The exhibition usually runs from the beginning of December until the first weeks of January.

All the nativity scenes on display have been created by various voluntary associations, schools, families, artists and citizens of Ossana and other Val di Sole residents.discovering these cribs, which are often made of unusual materials (e.g. fabric, wood, seeds, corn leaves), is definitely a special experience.
