Perhaps the most surprising thing for any tourist visiting Italy for the first time is the lack of a kettle in the apartments. While we practically can't do without this great helper, Italians hardly ever use a kettle.

They don't really have a reason for it - they don't drink much tea, and for a good coffee they go to a bar or a café.or the traditional caffettiera, but they never pour themselves instatnti granules or turka in a big mug.

So if you don't want to bring your own kettle from home on holiday, you can simply boil water for your favourite coffee or tea the old-fashioned way in a saucepan on the stove. But make sure you go to a local café or beach bar at least once and enjoy the local atmosphere as well as something delicious.
