The ancient romantic town of Caorle, on the Adriatic coast, offers sunny sandy beaches with a gently shelving beach and plenty of sun loungers, parasols and free space.

The beaches stretch for a total of 15 kilometres, from the "old town" through Porto Santa Margherita to the new part of Altanea and Duna Verde.

From spring to autumn, the beaches are maintained, cleaned and tidied daily to provide tourists with every comfort. There are beach bars and ice cream stands, swings and climbing frames for children, pedal boat rentals, beach volleyball and petanque courts, outdoor showers and toilets, and a first aid room.

Every year, the European Commission awards the town of Caorle with the Blue Flag - an award for the cleanliness of its beaches and its environmental friendliness.

In the original historic part of Caorle there are two beaches: the eastern Levante and the western Ponente, between which stands the old church of Madonna dell'Angelo, shrouded in legends. A long promenade runs along both beaches, and from the church it is flanked in one section by statues carved directly into the rocks of the quay.

the wider of the two beaches is called Levante, stretching east from the church to the lagoon between Caorle and Bibione, which starts at Porto Falconera. Levante is very suitable for families with children and the elderly, thanks to the gradual entry into the sea, the shallow sandy bottom and also the slightly warmer water. The beach has been planted in recent years with several green oases with palm trees and Mediterranean vegetation. During the high season, the beach bars are open from morning until evening and there are often festivities such as barbecue competitions and spectacular fireworks displays.

Ponente beach, on the west side, is narrower than Levante, but there are plenty of umbrellas and sunbeds, bars, children's activities and free space. If you walk to the end of the pier, you can watch the boats heading out to sea or take the ferry across the Livenza River to Caorle's newer district of Porto Santa Margherita.

Porto Santa Margherita was established in the 1960s as a suburb of Caorle with a tourist port in the centre. It is more of a holiday resort with hotels and apartments, popular mainly for its sandy beach and lower prices, thus presenting an alternative to accommodation in the old town.

Duna Verde is a smaller and quieter beach located south of the centre of Caorle. This beach is surrounded by natural dunes and greenery, giving it a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Although not as well equipped as the main beach, it offers basic services such as sunbeds and umbrellas. Several small bars and cafes provide refreshments. The beach is ideal for those looking for a quieter environment.

Duna verde beach - caorle

Between Porto Santa Margherita and Duna Verde, a completely new part of Altanea has been built over the last few years. Here, of course, there are sandy beaches with gentle access to the water, but above all there are nice new apartments in terracedvillas or smaller residences for holiday accommodation, divided into several complexes (villaggio) with swimming pools and, above all, lots of greenery. Altanea is especially popular with families with children who return year after year. A train will take you to the beach.
