Arabba lies at an altitude of 1,600 metres. Unlike other ski resorts, it doesn't have such a long history, but you'll still find people speaking Ladino. In the past there were only pastures where there was a lot of snow in winter, which when it melted in spring brought big problems with avalanches. Avalanches do occasionally get bad here, but the altitude and perfect snow cover loveto the unique slopes for downhill and backcountry skiing enthusiasts.
arabba is located at the foot of the Sella Ronda massif. The whole circuit connects four valleys and offers more than 500 kilometres of interconnected pistes, so you can start your day in Arabba and in one day ski resorts such as Corvara, Val Gardena and Canazei.
Arabba is surrounded by mountain passes, known as 'passi', which allow skiers to reach other areas just on the Sella Ronda circuit. For example, the Passo Pordoi up to Canazei, or the Passo Campolongo towards another of the resorts , Alta Badia and Passo Padon, which allows you to ski directly on the Marmolada.
If you are one of the ski enthusiasts looking for a challenge, Arabba has a lot to offer you. Some of the black runs in the area, such as Porta Vescovo, are known for their steep slopes and great conditions for fast descents.and on the Marmolada, the highest mountain in the Dolomites, you'll find the longest run in the region, which reaches up to 12 kilometres in length.
You can do all this and more on a Dolomites Superski ski pass (460 ski lifts) or the Arabba / Marmolada, which includes a total of 30 ski lifts.
After a hard day on the slopes, you can relax in the local wellness centres or go for a walk in thewalk along the surrounding trails, which offer breathtaking views of the Dolomite peaks. Winter evenings in Arabba are often quiet, making it the perfect opportunity to soak up the Alpine atmosphere and be enchanted by the silence and beauty of the snowy landscape.
