Termoli
Termoli is a town on the Adriatic coast, famous for its ancient castle, Castello Svevo, which towers over the town. The castle was built in the 13th century and offers breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding countryside.
But even just wandering the narrow streets of the old town, known as Borgo Antico, will take you back in time. Don't miss the Cathedral of St Basso, a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture.
Isernia
Isernia is an ancient town that boasts one of the oldest Roman bridges in Italy. This bridge, which is still in use, is a testament to the engineering skills of the ancient Romans.
Also located in the city is the Renaissance Fontana Fraterna, built in the 13th century. The fountain is one of the city's most important monuments.
Campobasso
The landmark of Campobasso and a place we recommend visiting is the Monforte Castle, built in the 15th century. It offers spectacular views of the town and the surrounding countryside and is the venue for regular cultural events and festivals.
For history buffs, a visit to the local Sannitico Museum is a must. The museum displays artefacts from the time of the Sannites, an ancient tribe that inhabited the area before the arrival of the Romans.
Sepino
Near the town of Sepino is one of the best preserved Roman archaeological sites in Italy - Altilia. Here you can see the remains of the Roman city, including a theatre, basilica and houses that give you a glimpse into the life of the ancient inhabitants.
Matese
For nature lovers, the Matese area is a paradise. There is the Matese National Park with its varied hiking trails where you can discover mountain peaks, deep valleys and beautiful lakes. It is the ideal place for hiking, climbing and relaxing in nature.
Larino
The town of Larino is home to a well-preserved Roman amphitheatre that once hosted gladiatorial matches. The amphitheatre is still an active place, but today it hosts cultural events and concerts.
The Cathedral of San Pardo is also worth seeing. The Cathedral of Larin is a magnificent example of Romanesque architecture with richly decorated interiors. Every year, it hosts the Feast of Saint Pardo, which attracts visitors from all over the region.
Traditional gastronomy
Molise is also known for its excellent gastronomy. Be sure to sample local specialties such as:

- Cavatelli: Traditional pasta often served with ragout.
