Ostuni, known as the"White City", is located in the Apulia region, about 8 km from the Adriatic Sea. It is built on three hills and its historic centre is characterised by narrow streets and white houses. The town is dominated by the Gothic-Romanesque Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. The town's strategic location between olive groves and the coast makes it a popular tourist destination. There are several maserias in the area, traditional farmhouses that today serve as luxury accommodation. The nearby beaches are part of the Torre Guaceto nature reserve. Ostuni is also known for its gastronomy, especially olive oil and seafood. The annual festival of Saint Oronzo, patron saint of the town, is held here.
