Turin, the second largest city in northern Italy and the capital of the Piedmont region, is a city that combines rich history, culture and modern dynamism. It is situated at the foot of the Alps, giving it a unique geographical location with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

In the 19th and 20th centuries, Turin became the centre of Italian industry, especially the automotive industry. It was here that the famous Fiat car company was founded, which played a key role in the industrialisation of the city. This industrial development brought Turin a modern infrastructure and turned it into a cosmopolitan city.

Despite its industrial past, Turin has retained many green spaces and parks that provide residents and visitors with a place to rest and relax. The city is also home to several important museums, including the Egyptian Museum, which is the second largest of its kind in the world and contains a fascinating collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts.

The gastronomy in Turin is another reason why this city is worth a visit. Piedmontese cuisine is renowned for its high quality ingredients and traditional recipes. Turin is also home to a chocolate delicacy called "Gianduiotto" and is famous for its wine production, including the world-famous Barolo and Barbaresco.
