Livigno, a town hidden in the Italian Alps near the Swiss border, is one of the best and most famous ski resorts in Europe. It is nicknamed "Little Tibet" due to its high altitude and snow conditions that guarantee good snow throughout the winter season. Livigno is a true paradise for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and offers an experience worth having!

Endless possibilities for skiers and snowboarders

Livigno boasts more than 115 kilometres of pistes spread between two main areas: Carosello 3000 and Mottolino. Carosello 3000 is ideal for families and beginner skiers. It offers wide and less steep slopes where beginners can feel safe and comfortable. Mottolino, on the other hand, is famous for its adrenaline-filled slopes and snowpark, which is one of the best in Europe. The Mottolino Snowpark is a real paradise for freestyle snowboarding and skiing enthusiasts, with many jumps, rails and other obstacles.

top infrastructure and equipment

Livigno is constantly modernising and investing in its infrastructure. You'll find modern lifts and cable cars that provide fast and convenient access to all the slopes. In addition, there are several quality ski schools that offer lessons for beginners and advanced skiers, both in skiing and snowboarding.

The town also offers a wide range of ski equipment hire shops that offer the latest models of skis and snowboards, so you don't have to worry about transporting your own equipment.

Duty-free zone and apres-ski

One of the unique aspects of Livigno is its status as a duty-free zone. This means you can shop at very competitive prices, which is a great opportunity to get new equipment or enjoy shopping for luxury goods.

As well as skiing, Livigno offers a wide range of apres-ski activities. The town is full of cosy bars, restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy traditional Italian specialities and fine wines. After a day on the slopes, you can also relax in one of the local wellness centres, where you can enjoy a sauna, massage or hot tub.

Off-piste activities

Livigno isn't just about skiing. It's also a place with beautiful scenery and a wide range of off-piste activities. You can try snowkiting, snowshoeing, ice skating on a frozen lake or even an adrenaline-pumping dog-sled ride. And if you want to relax and unwind after a day on the slopes, you can visit the Aquagranda water park.

How to get to Livigno?

Livigno is quite remote and getting here can be a challenge, which is why it retains its charming and non-commercial character. The nearest airports are in Milan and Innsbruck, from where you can continue to Livigno by car, bus or train. In winter, you should expect possible restrictions on the roads due to snow.
