San Vito dei Normanni is located in Puglia, about 10 km from the Adriatic coast. The town has a historic centre with narrow streets and the dominant castle of Dentice di Frasso. The Church of Santa Maria della Vittoria is one of the main sights. San Vito is famous for its traditional festivals, especially the celebration of St. Vitus. In the surroundings there are olive groves and typical Apulian country houses, called masserie. The nearby Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve offers beautiful beaches and protected ecosystems. The town has a rich folklore tradition and is a centre of Apulian folk music "pizzica". Gastronomy includes olive oil, homemade pasta and seafood.
