Rimini is the largest Italian resort on the Adriatic Sea, located in central Italy - Emilia Romagna and its famous sandy beaches flow seamlessly into the surrounding towns for tens of kilometres.
In the historic centre you can see Roman and medieval monuments (such as the Ponte di Tiberio bridge or the triumphal arch of the Arco d'Augusto), ancient palaces and churches.
Rimini is very conveniently located for excursions into the surrounding area. The most visited are the Republic of San Marino, Riccione, Cesenatico, the stalactite caves of Frasassi, Ravenna and the more distant Venice (Venezia).
Along the promenade there are many shops, cafes, ice cream parlours and restaurants, mostly open until late in the evening, plus clubs and discos open at night. Children can play on the playgrounds in the parks and on the beaches, and for the sporty there is volleyball, basketball, table tennis and tennis, bocce, mini football tennis, mini golf, bike hire, windsurfing, jet skis, pedal boats, paragliding and many other activities.
