Praia a Mare is a modern tourist town in the northern part of Italy - Calabria on the Tyrrhenian coast.
One part of it faces the beautiful azure sea and on the other side there are high mountains.
The name Praia comes from ancient Greek and means beach, it stretches for 5 km along the resort, has volcanic in origin and is sandy with small pebbles and reefs suitable for diving.
Praia a Mare is dominated by the island of Dino, famous for its beautiful caves (such as the Azure and Lion Caves), to which boat trips are organised. Praia a Mare is also home to entertainment and sporting activities, such as one of the largest water parks in southern Italy. Don't forget to visit the regular weekly market every Thursday morning!
