Mattinata is a seaside resort located in the southern part of Gargano in the Puglia region. Nowadays Mattinata is mainly a fishing town with a quiet pedestrian area with many shops, cafes, pizzerias and typical winding streets. Mattinata is unusually situated on a hillside and is separated from the sea by about one kilometre of plain. Many tourists are attracted by the crystal clear sea, the pebble beaches, the rocky coastline and the charming landscape. The whole area is an oasis of peace.
