The Marche is a region in central Italy whose shores are bathed by the Adriatic Sea. It is located south of the important port of Ancona. It is part of the area known as the Palm Riviera. The Palm Riviera is the name given to the Adriatic coast north and south around San Benedetto del Tronto, about 100 km south of Ancona. The highest Italian ridge, the Gran Sasso, is within sight of the entire Palm Riviera. wide sandy beaches, clean sea, many cultural and historical monuments guarantee a pleasant holiday. There are also two national and four regional parks in the area. The capital is Ancona. The Marche is a picturesque and mountainous region.
