The Marche is a region in central Italy whose shores are bathed by the Adriatic Sea. It is located south of the important port of Ancona. It is part of the area known as the Palm Riviera. The Palm Riviera is the name given to the Adriatic coast north and south around San Benedetto del Tronto, about 100 km south of Ancona.
