Just a few steps from the bustling tourist centre, this charming place is located.
Jamaica Beach is a small rocky beach in the northern part of Sirmione. It can be reached by a path that descends to the entrance of the archaeological site of the Catullus Caves.
Sometimes Lago di Garda is lower than usual due to the low rainfall; when it doesn't rain for a while, the lake level drops by up to 60 cm. Then, as if by magic, the stone slabs rise above the surface. At these times, you can take a walk almost "in the middle of the lake".
la Spiaggia Giamaica is not a real beach. In fact, there are no sandy shores, but only stones that have been eroded by water and wind to become real slabs, ideal for lying and sunbathing. At this point, the water in Lake Garda is crystal clear. The beach is definitely worth a visit. You will see the lake from a different perspective and breathe almost Caribbean air. The beach can be reached on foot from the gate just before the entrance to the Grotte di Catullo, along a steep dirt path through the olive trees.
The beach is partly free and partly equipped with deck chairs for rent. Unfortunately, there is no sports equipment or pedal boats available. Showers are free, as is one toilet.
