Dobbiaco (Toblach) is located in South Tyrol near the border with Austria. It is surrounded by the Dolomites and is one of the most popular mountain resorts in the Drei Zinnen region. The town is an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling, and in winter it offers cross-country skiing trails and nearby ski areas. Lago di Dobbiaco is a dominant feature, popular for walking and water sports. The historic centre is decorated with the Church of St. John the Baptist and the cultural heritage of the town is commemorated by the composer Gustav Mahler, who stayed here. Music festivals and sporting events are held here every year. Dobbiaco is easily accessible by train and car, offering quality hotels and traditional mountain chalets.
