Agropoli is a minor major European seaside resort located 42 km south of Salerno in the Italian region of Campania. The town has a very nice historical centre made up of streets and old houses built on a rock massif. A major destination for history lovers and excavators. There are beautiful beaches in the area divided by cliffs into individual shorter sections. An ideal place that attracts excursions along the coast and into the mountains inland. On top of the cliffs, above the town, stands the Aragon Castle, dating from the 6th century. On top of another cliff stands the watchtower of St. Francis, dating from the 16th century. Agropoli is the gateway to this cultural area. In addition to a large number of historical monuments, Agropoli also offers its visitors modern accommodation centres, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues.
