Giants of the Green Triangle, a landfill that is becoming an open-air museum

Near the centre of Peccioli, in the Green Triangle of Belvedere S.p.A., is one of the largest waste disposal and treatment facilities in Tuscany, which has managed to convert waste into energy and transform the area by events and concerts that come to life in the nearby amphitheatre and the large white sculptures that emerge from the ground.

The Giants of Peccioli: up to 9 metres high sculptures made of polystyrene and polyurethane foam, created by the Naturaliter group in 2011, which literally grow out of the garbage. They are placed between the hills that surround the landfill and act as a barrier against the smell, along with a retaining wall created by Davide Tremlett in 2017.
