Parma is a city full of history. But what if its famous personalities could tell you their own story? The Talking Teens project has turned 16 statues into fascinating narrators who will guide you through the city's past. Just scan the QR code and Giuseppe Verdi, Maria Luisa of Austria or Arturo Toscanini will personally reveal the secrets of their lives. How does it work and which statues are definitely not to be missed?

Young talents make history come alive

The project was created in 2018 and involved students from local schools who contributed to the scenarios and research. The result is 16 sculptures in the centre of Parma that "speak" in the voice of actors and tell stories full of interest, emotion and humour.

Among the most interesting characters you can meet are:

  • Giuseppe Verdi - the genius of opera whose music changed the world.
  • Arturo Toscanini - a famous conductor with an uncompromising approach to music.
  • Maria Luisa of Austria - Napoleon's wife and Duchess of Parma, who gave the city its charm.
  • Ennio Tardini - a key figure in Italian football, after whom the famous stadium is named.
  • Filippo Corridoni - statue of the patriot who died during the First World War.
  • Statue of Hercules and Antaeus - the statue represents the mythological battle between Hercules and the giant Antaeus

Alternatively, you can call the phone number listed with the statue and listen to it over the phone.
