If you're heading to Lido di Jesolo on holiday, it's important to know how the local residence tax(imposta di soggiorno, often also tassa di soggiorno) works. This tax is collected directly at the accommodation and is governed by the rules of the municipality of Jesolo.

What is the residence tax?

The tourist tax is a local tourist tax levied on all guests staying overnight in tourist accommodation in the territory of the municipality of Jesolo. Its proceeds are used for:

  • maintenance of beaches and public areas,

  • the improvement of the tourist infrastructure,

  • improving the quality of visitor services.

The tax is not included in the price of the accommodation and is paid extra when paying for the stay or at check-out.

When is the sojourn tax payable?

The tax only applies to stays in accommodation and not to overnight visits. It is payable for a maximum of 10 consecutive nights per person - additional nights during the same continuous booking are no longer charged.

The period in which the tax is levied is from April to October (previously it was May to September).

How much does the tourist tax in Jesolo cost?

The stay tax is calculated per person and per night of accommodation andcan reach different amounts depending on the type of accommodation and its classification. An increase in the residence tax is announced for 2026. It will come into forcein April 2026.

Exemptions and exceptions

Children under 10 years of age are generally exempt from the sojourn tax .

Other exemptions may apply for people with disabilities or other special situations, if provided for by a municipal decision - you can always find out in detail in the Deliberazione or directly on the Comune di Jesolo website.

How is the residence tax paid?

The tax is paid bythe accommodation provider - hotel, aparthotel, B&B, residence or other structure to which you are staying.
