If you love flowers, trees, meadows and ponds, don't miss a visit to the Parco Giardino Sigurta flower garden. It covers an area of more than 600,000 m2 just a few kilometres from Lake Garda and receives millions of visitors every year.

The history and creation of the park

The roots of the park go back to 1407, when a farm was founded here. In the 19th century it was converted into an English park by Count Antonio Maffei and then acquired by the Sigurtà family in 1941. It was Enzo Sigurtà who began the extensive renovation and transformed the site into a botanical paradise, which was opened to the public in 1978.

Floral splendour and seasonal changes

The park is particularly famous for its seasonal transformations. The biggest attraction is the Tulip Season (Tulipanomania), when more than a million flowers bloom in countless colour variations. Tulips are complemented by daffodils, hyacinths and other spring flowers.

In the summer months, the park is decorated with extensive rose gardens, water lilies and floral ornaments, while in autumn the colourful leaves of the trees and autumn flowers take centre stage. You can also enjoy the extensive lawns and tranquil lakes all year round.

  • Labyrinth - a green maze of trees that will tantalise many a visitor.
  • Medicinal Garden - a collection of over 40 species of medicinal herbs.
  • Century Oak - a majestic tree that has been growing here for several hundred years.

How to visit the park?

Sigurtà is open from spring to autumn, with the biggest influx of visitors coming during the tulip season and summer months. You can get around the park on foot, by bicycle or by using the electric carts.
