The cleanest sea far and wide
The bay of Paraggi has long ranked among the locations with the most crystal clear water in Liguria. It is part of the Parco Regionale di Portofino protected area, so the sea here is really exceptionally clear and calm. This makes for great swimming and snorkelling - there are schools of fish around the shores.
A small but exceptional beach
The beach here is sandy, which is rare in this part of Liguria. It's really small and therefore tends to be crowded on summer weekends, but the atmosphere is worth it. You'll find a public stretch as well as several stylish stabilimento where you can rent a sun lounger, have a drink and have peace and quiet for the day.
Paraggi - Portofino: one of the most beautiful coastal paths
While you're here, don't miss the path leading from Paraggi to Portofino. The views are fantastic and the route is easy (takes about 20-30 minutes). After just a few minutes you will see the bay from above. The path will lead you directly to Castello Brown, a fortress on a rock promontory above Portofino. From here you can enjoy an iconic panoramic view of the entire town and the bay.
How to get here

By car: parking directly in Paraggi is limited and expensive. Better to leave your car in Santa Margherita Ligure and walk or take the bus.

By bus: the Santa Margherita Ligure - Portofino bus stops right at the bay.

On foot: the beautiful walk along the coast takes about 40-50 minutes from "Santa".

By boat: in high season there are regular boats from Rapallo or Santa Margherita.
