The name Cala Violina is not accidental. According to local legend, the fine siliceous sand gives off a specific, ""violin" sound, especially in the quiet morning hours, when there are still no crowds of tourists. This unique feature, together with the clear water and the fragrant pine forest around, creates a place with a truly magical atmosphere.
The nature and beauty of Maremma
The bay is protected by dense pine groves and Mediterranean macchia, which not only provide shade but also a beautiful backdrop for moments of relaxation. The sea here is exceptionally clear, with a gradual entry into the water, which is appreciated by families with children.
Cala Violina is part of the Maremma natural area, known for its unspoilt landscape, rolling hills, vineyards and ancient medieval towns. A trip to this beach is the perfect opportunity to combine relaxation by the sea with exploring the beauty of the Tuscan countryside.
How to get here
At Cala Violina, there is no road leading directly to the beach. You have to leave your car at the car park (payable, with limited capacity), from where you have to walk about 1.5 km along a forest path. The approach is slightly undulating, but definitely worth the effort - which makes visitors appreciate the tranquillity and unspoilt beauty of the bay all the more.
During the summer months, entry tends to be regulated to a maximum of 700 people per day to prevent overcrowding and damage to the ecosystem, so it's advisable to book your spot online in advance.
