There are places in Italy that people keep almost to themselves. Cala Bianca, hidden in the Cilento Natural Park in the Campania region, is one of them. There are no roads, no sunbeds or restaurants - just clear sea, white pebbles and the smell of pine trees.

Cala Bianca means "white bay" - and the name says it all. The tiny beach with its light pebbles and emerald water is nestled among rocks and greenery. In 2013, it was voted the most beautiful beach in all of Italy in an Italian poll, yet even today only those who truly deserve it can get here - on foot or by boat.

How to get here?

On foot

The nearest starting point is Marina di Camerota. From here, a walking path about 3 km long (about 1 hour's walk) leads through the Porto Infreschi e Costa della Masseta nature reserve. The path is not difficult, but it is not suitable for strollers or people with reduced mobility.

By boat

In the summer months you can take a boat taxi from Marina di Camerota - the short cruise along the wild coast is an experience in itself.

What's waiting for you here?

First of all, no infrastructure. Cala Bianca is completely natural, with no stalls, bars, umbrellas. The clear water is ideal for snorkelling - thanks to the protected marine environment, you'll see a wealth of underwater life. And you'll experience real peace and quiet here - even in high season, there are far fewer people than on other Italian beaches.
