Ascea is located approximately 90 kilometers south of Salerno on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Sentiero degli Innamorati

This short trail winds along the rocky coastline amid pine trees and Mediterranean vegetation. Wooden walkways alternate with views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Ascey coastline. The entire walk takes about an hour and is suitable even for families with older children. It’s most beautiful in the late afternoon, when the sun begins to set over the sea.
Punta del Telegrafo—a viewpoint you shouldn’t miss
The trail begins at Punta del Telegrafo, a rocky headland offering a panoramic view of the long Marina di Ascea beach and the Velia Archaeological Park.
The remains of a former coastal watchtower still stand on the cape today. It was part of a defensive system that protected the coast from pirate raids. Later, it served as a telegraph station, from which the place derives its current name.
It’s one of the best spots in the area for watching the sunset or taking a short evening stroll.
What to Try in Ascee
